Online learning resource Perlego has partnered with education software supplier Talis to provide access to digital content for university students courses, as many prepare for remote learning from September.
The news comes as academic publishers across the UK work to digitise much of their content and make resources widely available to students in higher education.
The titles in reading lists on over 230,000 courses at 100 selected universities, including UCL, Oxford and Warwick, will be linked to Perlego's digital library, as many academic libraries cannot provide access to resources.
On the partnership, David Errington, Talis c.e.o., said: “In recent months it’s been made clear that university staff and students require a simple solution for accessing resources remotely.
“We believe Perlego offers a unique approach that facilitates this and will directly benefit our Talis Aspire users. We are looking forward to partnering with them, in order to help students and library staff in our Talis Aspire universities to access a breadth of online resources, in a more efficient and cost-effective way.”
Learners will have access to over 300,000 titles from leading publishers including Pearson, Wiley, Cambridge University Press (CUP) and Bloomsbury. Earlier this year, Perlego partnered with CUP to provide students with digital textbooks, and continues to host a range of content from the publisher on its site.
Perlego c.e.o. Gauthier Van Malderen added: “During these challenging times for education, we are working hard to ensure students are provided with the necessary resources to effectively continue their studies.
“Our partnership with Talis Aspire will offer students easier, direct access to the range of resources available on Perlego, and we are excited to be working alongside them to provide students with a unique and new online solution to significantly aid learning going forward."
