Nick Hern Books (NHB) has announced that distribution of all NHB titles will move from Grantham Book Services (GBS) to Macmillan Distribution (MDL) from 15th April 2024.
The theatre publisher has said that orders should continue to be placed with GBS until Friday 12th April 2024, and all orders should be sent to MDL from Monday 15th April 2024. NHB added that "customers should make payments for accounts due to the originating distributor".
NHB has been working with both distributors on a transfer plan, with the aim to "ensure minimal disruption to services or supply". The publisher said that major and regular NHB customers have been contacted directly with more information on key dates and processes, but any customers with outstanding queries are encouraged to get in touch.
"We thank the MDL team for their support, reassurance and expertise during the process of preparing for our transfer this month, and look forward to a bright future working with them," said Matt Applewhite, managing director at Nick Hern Books. "After decades of distribution at Grantham Book Services, we’d also like to thank the team there for their service over many years."
Matt Hogg, commercial director at Macmillan Distribution, added: "We are excited to be working with the Nick Hern team and are delighted that they have chosen to join MDL. We are well into the transfer process with everything on course for a smooth transition from GBS this month."
NHB joins a number of other publishers announcing the same move in the past month, including Bonnier Books UK, Publishers Group UK and Allison & Busby.
