The parent company of Nielsen BookData, NielsenIQ, has merged with Growth for Knowledge (GfK), a German market research company.
In an email to Nielsen BookData subscribers, managing director Andre Breedt said the combined business will take a “best of the best” approach to processes, systems and client dashboards in order to “elevate over time our already superior servicing, market-leading data integrity and quality, and speed-of-delivery".
Nielsen BookData’s positions in the UK and Ireland, Australasia, South America and parts of Europe, will henceforth be combined with GfK’s positions in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, he said, which means enhanced geographical reach.
He continued that users will not experience any disruption and that there will be no impact to the delivery of services. “With integrations of this size, there will be changes over time, and we will keep you informed of any updates,” he said.
Jim Peck, c.e.o. of NielsenIQ, said: “We are excited as we combine the strengths of these two great companies to create the future of consumer intelligence.
“Together, we are powered by more – more global reach, more omnichannel coverage, more consumer-sourced insights and more predictive analytics, which add up to more actionable insights and growth for our customers. Most importantly, we are bringing together innovative industry experts and complementary cultures driven by integrity and the relentless pursuit of delivering the highest quality at all times.”
