Octopus is launching a Meet The Author series on Instagram.

Twice a week an Octopus author—across all subjects, including cooking, health, mindfulness, fashion, design and gardening—will introduce themselves and their book, and answer five questions that they feel readers would most want to know.

The publisher said the series "will provide readers with the author engagement that is so enjoyed at events, as well as useful tools and tips to use at home and some much needed escapism at a time of such uncertainty".

The first tour starts on Tuesday 24th March with Tom Hunt introducing Eating for Pleasure, People & Planet, and will continue with the author of the Unexpected Joy series, Catherine Gray, followed byThere’s No Taste Like Home by John Partridge. Authors later in the series will include Katie and Giancarlo Caldesi, Cyrus Todiwala, Jack Burke, Lia Leendertz, Jerry Saltz, Alexandra Shulman, and Chris Sutton.

Readers can go to @octopus_books_ on Instagram and tune into stories on Tuesday and Thursday evenings "to enjoy virtual events from the comfort and safety of your homes", said the publisher.
