Conran Octopus has signed a cookbook from Japanese TV chef and restaurateur Harumi Kurihara that “takes cooking back to basics and shows you how to master Japanese recipes to impress friends and family”.
Octopus publisher Alison Starling acquired world English language rights from the Tuttle-Mori agency in Japan. The publisher also acquired the book in 12 other languages. It will publish on 7th May 2020 priced at £18.99.
The synopsis reads: “With an enticing design and fool-proof step-by-step photography, Harumi presents 53 recipes in her trademark approachable style, organised into chapters of: Meat and Fish; Vegetables; Rice, Noodles and More; and Desserts. There's also information on ingredients and utensils, making dashi and how to correctly prepare and cook rice.”
Starling said: “Conran Octopus have been publishing Harumi’s cookbooks since 2004 and have sold more than 330,000 copies across three titles so we are absolutely delighted to have a new book for the list, especially one that makes cooking Japanese food so simple.”
