Conran Octopus has acquired a new series of books from British Vogue exploring the key pieces in a "stylish woman’s wardrobe".
The first two titles in the Vogue Essentials series, Vogue Essentials: Little Black Dress by Chloe Fox and Vogue Essentials: Handbags by Carolyn Asome will publish in May 2018 after Octopus publisher Alison Starling acquired world rights from Condé Nast’s agent, Julian Alexander at LAW.
Fox, a contributing editor to Vogue, where she spent three years working on the features desk, will celebrate the best “little black dresses” (LBDs) in her title. While in Vogue Essentials Handbags, Asome explores fashion accessories “that can make any woman feel fabulous” – from Prada’s nylon backpack to the exclusive Hermés Birkin.
Starling said: “Conran Octopus have been working with Vogue since 2014 and together we’ve created a programme of books that has sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide, ranging from the £10 Vogue Colouring Book to the £75 Vogue the Gown. It’s been hugely enjoyable to work with Carolyn Asome, Chloe Fox and the Vogue archive on creating the first two Vogue Essentials and to be able to offer a treasure trove of the best fashion photography for the price of a good lipstick.”
Harriet Wilson, director of editorial administration and rights, Condé Nast Britain, added: “We’re delighted to once again be working with Conran Octopus. They’re fantastic at what they do, and with the Vogue archive at our disposal and some incredibly talented authors, Vogue Essentials will be yet another unmissable collection.”
The titles will be published on 3rd May 2018 at £15 in hardback.
