Oneworld postpones publication of Diaz picture book

Oneworld has postponed the publication of Junot Diaz's upcoming picture book, Islandborn, originally scheduled for this month. It will now be published in the autumn.

Oneworld publisher Juliet Mabey said: "We’ve recently had an invitation for Junot Díaz to visit the UK this autumn. In light of which, we’ve decided to postpone publication of Islandborn to tie in with the proposed trip, which is likely to be in October."

Islandborn was published in the US by Dial Publishing in March.

Díaz recently resigned as chairman of the Pulitzer Prize, in a step which followed accusations of sexually inappropriate behaviour. The Dominican-born and New Jersey-raised author’s The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (Faber & Faber) won the prize in Pulitzer Prize in 2008.
