Sarah Benton is being promoted to Orion’s group marketing and strategy director after "delivering outstanding campaigns" for the company.
Currently group marketing director after joining the publisher in September 2016, she will take up her new role in January.
Benton will then join the Orion Executive Committee and take on a much wider brief working to devise, support and implement strategy at author, imprint and company level. She will continue to report to m.d. Katie Espiner who described Benton as “a hugely valued and respected colleague”.
Espiner said: “Sarah has overseen and implemented a huge shift in how the marketing department works at Orion, delivering outstanding campaigns for key authors, and giving new clarity and transparency to how and where marketing time and resource is most effectively used to deliver real results for our authors. I am delighted that she is stepping into a much bigger role here.”
Benton added: “I have loved being part of Orion for the last year; working hard to bring the best people, and best quality of marketing, to the company and our authors.”
Prior to joining Orion, Benton was marketing director for HarperFiction and has also worked at Pan Macmillan and Bonnier’s Hot Key Books.
