Orion’s Cait Davies has been promoted to brand director, taking up the newly created role with immediate effect.
Previously deputy marketing director, in her new role Davies will work alongside Lynsey Sutherland, marketing director, and Leanne Oliver, publicity director, with all three reporting to managing director Anna Valentine.
Since joining the team in 2017, Davies has been responsible for delivering campaigns and sales growth for authors including Michael Connelly, Brandon Sanderson, The Reverend Richard Coles, Santa Montefiore, Joe Abercrombie and Simon Sebag Montefiore.
She spearheaded marketing campaigns for Candice Carty-Williams’ Queenie, Clare Chambers’ Shy Creatures and Philippe Sands’ The Last Colony.
Davies said: “I’m delighted to step into this new role working alongside Lynsey and Leanne – as well as the exceptional talents of our authors and editors – to drive the growth of Orion’s brand publishing, which has long been my particular area of passion. It’s rare to work somewhere that genuinely lives and breathes its values, but the commitment, ambition, agility and collaboration I see every day at Orion clearly shows that we are poised to take our publishing to new heights.”
Valentine said: “Cait is a marketing powerhouse. As creative as she is strategic, equally excitable about big-picture thinking as she is about implementing process change, Cait is an invaluable member of Orion, and has delivered an enormous amount of value to the business in her seven years at Orion. I’m thrilled to reward her contribution with this newly created role of brand director, an area in which Cait excels, and one that will underpin our commitment to reaching new readers for our impressive roster of brand authors.”
