Oxford University Press (OUP) has forged a direct channel to the US market for the first time through a sales and distribution agreement with Independent Publishers Group (IPG) for the exclusive distribution of Oxford Children’s fiction titles in North America and Canada.
Chicago-based IPG will launch and distribute Oxford Children’s fiction titles in North America and Canada from 1st October 2023.
This agreement is the first time there will be a direct sales channel into the US for OUP’s children’s fiction list. Many of Oxford Children’s bestselling young fiction series will be part of the selection launched and distributed by IPG.
Helen Freeman, director of Oxford Children’s, said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to have this agreement in place with IPG. From our earliest conversations, it was clear how much the IPG team appreciated the quality of our children’s list. Most excitingly, we know this agreement is going to provide some truly wonderful reading experiences to even more children.”
“Oxford University Press is one of the world’s most prestigious publishers. We are very happy to have the opportunity to work with them to sell their children’s fiction list in North America,” said Brooke O’Donnell, s.v.p. of international business development at IPG.
IPG focuses on the distribution of both print and e-books from a wide array of publishers, digital printing and traditional publishing. It was bought by Chicago Review Press in 1987.
