OUP makes education and home learning resources free

Oxford University Press (OUP) has made many of its flagship educational and home learning resources available for free, in order to support teachers, parents and learners affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, both in the UK and internationally.

OUP has grouped the initiative under the umbrella '"Supporting you with learning anywhere".

Support and free content are available through a number of OUP’s online educational platforms, including its websites Oxford Owl for School and Oxford Owl for Home.

For primary schoolchildren who are learning to read, OUP has made more that 70 phonics books, practice sheets and parent information booklets available through its Oxford Owl platform.

The platform also has a free e-book library which includes stories featuring much-loved children’s characters such as Biff, Chip and Kipper and Winnie the Witch, as well as non-fiction e-books to help children understand their world. As well as educational tools, the site has fun activites such as cooking recipes and mask making.

In addition, Ruth Miskin Training is also streaming three daily phonics lessons on YouTube, each available for 24 hours.

OUP is also offering schools free access to MyMaths, the UK's leading maths platform for secondary schools, until September. There will also be a series of dedicated webinars for teachers, to support them while they are using the site to teach remotely.

For those continuing to prepare for exams, Bond Online, has made a new suite of resources freely available.

OUP Children’s has also launched a series of online author events, including a weekly Author Challenge, Author Draw-along and Author Storytime, available on the Oxford Owl Facebook page and Instagram TV at 11 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays over the coming weeks.
