Penguin General has appointed Amy Davies to the new role of brand manager for author Richard Osman.
Davies joins from Penguin Michael Joseph where she has been working for more than two years as brand manager for Jamie Oliver, acting as a key point of contact and champion for his publishing projects, overseeing the development of his publishing identity, as well as running marketing and stakeholder communication.
She starts her new role on 8th August, ahead of Osman’s third novel in the Thursday Murder Club series, The Bullet That Missed, being published on 15th September.
Before working there, she led marketing campaigns at Orion for The Silent Patient and Listening to the Animals by "Supervet" Noel Fitzpatrick. She also worked with Fearne Cotton, The Hairy Bikers and Liz Earle as well as fiction brands Cathy Kelly and Veronica Henry.
Harriet Bourton, Richard Osman’s publisher at Viking, said: “Amy is going to make a fantastic contribution to the future development of Richard’s publishing brand. The record-breaking success of the Thursday Murder Club series is only the beginning of what we believe is possible for Richard’s career. Amy’s impeccable brand-building experience and market knowledge alongside her inherent creativity, ambition and strategic thinking will ensure we continue to find new readers in new ways with every new book.”
Davies added: “I am thrilled to be joining Team Osman. The success that Richard and Penguin General have achieved with the Thursday Murder Club series is astonishing, and I can’t wait to build on that platform to reach the widest possible audience with his exceptional writing.”
