Amanda D’Acierno has been appointed global president of Penguin Random House (PRH) Audio effective immediately, and will continue to report to chief executive Nihar Malaviya.
Malaviya shared the news with the company in an email seen by The Bookseller, explaining that D’Acierno will join the PRH global executive committee and partner with the company’s audio group leads to expand PRH’s audio publishing across genres.
In her new role, the global president will also increase the company’s investment in in-house recording studios, and work to boost collaboration across the publisher’s audio groups across the world. She will also continue PRH’s relationships with retailers like Audible, Apple, Spotify, OverDrive, Google and others.
D’Acierno has 27 years of experience in the publishing industry, having started her career as a bookseller in Houston, Texas, and then managing events at Barnes & Noble’s flagship Union Square store in New York City.
The publishing executive also worked in publicity at an independent art press before joining Random House Audio in 2003, moving up to president and publisher of the PRH Audio Publishing Group in the US within five years. She has since seen the publisher’s American audio business through a period of growth, as it expanded its list of audiobooks from 500 titles when she became president and publisher, to 2,000 titles annually in 2024.
