Tina Persaud is stepping down as publisher of B T Batsford and will leave the company at the end of the year.
She said: “After 20 amazing years at Batsford I am finally moving on with plans and projects for a new chapter in publishing. With two decades of consistently strong sales in both trade and niche publishing, several book awards, an Editor of the Year Nibbie, relaunching and expanding the National Trust list, a backlist that goes on and on, and a Sunday Times bestseller with the Millie Marotta colouring books, it is time to make the most of all that experience and knowledge in a new setting.”
David Graham, m.d., said: “Tina has been a cornerstone of B T Batsford for more than two decades, and in her time with us here has published a roster of enduring backlist sellers in B T Batsford’s key categories of chess, craft, nature and gift as well, of course, working with our global best-seller Millie Marotta. We are sad to see Tina leave, and we all wish her the very best for the future and for the next stage of her career.”
B T Batsford was relaunched by owner Polly Powell last year after HarperCollins bought Pavilion Books, acquiring the imprints Collins & Brown, Pavilion, Portico, Robson, National Trust and Pavilion Children’s. The Batsford and Pitkin imprints were retained by Powell as B T Batsford, which remained as a standalone, privately owned business.
