Peters Fraser and Dunlop (PFD) has promoted two assistants, Tessa David and Vicky Cornforth, to the role of literary agent and associate agent in the broadcast department respectively.
David joined PFD four years ago, and worked previously as assistant to PFD c.e.o. Caroline Michel.
Tim Bates, head of books at PFD, said: “Tess has all the makings of a natural literary agent. She is endlessly enthusiastic and energetic. She has already developed an interesting list of clients, and done some great deals.
“Tess has very fine taste and is looking to expand her list, with particular interest in history, food-writing, popular science and fiction for both children and adults. I’m sure this will be the start of a great career.”
Michel also praised David. She said: “After working with Tess for four years, I’ve seen first-hand how good she is at what she does, and I’m thrilled she’s building such an exciting list.”
In addition, Cornforth has been promoted to associate agent in the broadcast department.
She joined PFD as an intern in 2016 and then became an assistant in the broadcast team.
“Vicky has proved to be a highly effective operator in broadcast and public speaking and is set to expand the agency’s business in these areas, especially in overseas markets,” said Jon Fowler, senior consultant for broadcast at PFD.
