Lisette Verhagen will join PFD as an agent for international clients expanding the agency's foreign rights department.
She will join on 6th January 2020. She arrives from David Godwin Associates, where she has been head of rights for the past five years. Her new role at PFD is as an agent for international clients in the foreign rights department.
Working with international rights director Rebecca Wearmouth and the foreign rights team, Verhagen will handle China, Japan and the Far East, while exploring opportunities for PFD, developing new foreign-language clients for sale both to the UK and around the world.
Verhagen said: “I have really enjoyed the five years I have spent working with DGA authors. I will miss my dear colleagues enormously. They have been like a family to me from the moment I arrived in the UK. However, I’m very excited and honoured to be joining PFD, one of the most established and innovative literary agencies out there. Making European books travel has always been a dream for me, and I can’t wait to start building a list of international clients.”
PFD c.e.o. Caroline Michel said: “We have been looking to extend our foreign rights department for some time, and knew, as soon as we met Lisette, that we had found the perfect addition to the team. Not only will she bring a wealth of contacts and experience, but also provide PFD with the opportunity to develop additional income streams, working with new international clients across the world. We are thrilled to be working with Lisette.’’
