Piatkus has scooped the second novel from Justin Myers, described as “a bold, eloquent and witty coming of age story”.
Anna Boatman, publisher for Little, Brown Book Group’s PCR Fiction bought world rights to The Magnificent Sons from Becky Thomas at Johnson and Alcock. It will be published in spring 2020.
Myers is the author of 2018's The Last Romeo (Piatkus) and dating blog The Guyliner, which includes his popular series of Guardian Blind Dates reviews "Impeccable Table Manners".
His new novel The Magnificent Sons, tells the tale of two very different brothers, Jake and Trick, and “their search for magnificence in everyday life”.
Myers said: “I really wanted to push myself with the second book and do something a little different. It’s been terrific working with Anna Boatman and Little, Brown, who shared and supported my vision and helped shape The Magnificent Sons. I can’t wait for people to read it.”
Boatman added: “Fans of The Last Romeo will discover and delight in the same wicked sense of humour, but here Justin is painting on a far broader canvas, exploring how we limit ourselves as we become increasingly obsessed with making the world view us in such carefully curated ways. It's a timely, wonderful story and Justin is a huge talent.”
