Picador publicists Kate Green and Alice Dewing (right) have been promoted.
Green has been appointed to head of Picador publicity while Dewing has become communications manager for Picador and partnerships.
Green joined Pan Macmillan in 2014 as a senior publicity manager on the fiction communications team. Her campaigns have included Hanya Yanigahara’s A Little Life, which was shortlisted for the Publisher’s Publicity Circle Hardback Fiction Campaign in 2015 and books with Hannah Kent and Helen Oyeyemi. In 2016 she won the Publisher’s Publicity Circle Best Sports Campaign category for Watching the Wheels by Damon Hill, which was also Highly Commended Campaign of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2017. Previously she has worked with authors including Joanna Trollope, Joanne Harris, Donal Ryan as well as Tess Gerritsen at Transworld.
Dewing joined Pan Macmillan in 2016 and previously worked FMcM Associates, IPE International Publishers and Duckworth Publishers. She has also been an editor at the Society of Young Publishers since 2015.
Emma Bravo, communications director of fiction, literature and partnerships, praised Green’s work ethic and her contribution to the showcases and sports list.
“Kate has worked brilliantly to develop Picador’s profile across the industry and with our key partners in the media and elsewhere,” Bravo said. “She is instrumental to the success of the New Voices and Picador Showcase events and is also responsible for PR on the sports list. Most recently, of course, Kate has played a huge part in achieving a number one in fiction hardback result for Kate Mosse.”
Bravo also paid tribute to Dewing’s campaigns and tours.
She said: “Alice has delivered an outstanding level in talent management, having been responsible for the campaigns of Hollie McNish, Kate Tempest and Pam Ayres - delivering hard-hitting campaigns and tours that drive sales. She has also been producing brilliant word of mouth campaigns for our debuts, notably for Sharlene Teo’s Ponti, Jamie Quatro’s Fire Sermon and Danya Kukafka’s Girl In Snow.”
