Michael Bond, creator of Paddington, visited Paddington Green Primary School in Edgware, London, on Monday 18th January to help unveil the school's new logo and uniform, which for the first time ever in the country includes Paddington himself.

Reading Force’s Marketing and Development manager Elaine Boorman, founder and director of Reading Force Dr Alison Baverstock, trustee Rt. Hon Gisela Stuart, MP for Birmingham Edgbaston, Reading Force’s Communications and Liaison manager Hattie Gordon and Reading Force ambassador Pam Parish attended the launch of the Reading Force exhibition at Westminster Palace on Monday 18th January. 

Children’s author Robin Stevens joined pupils from Swaffield Primary School in Wandsworth, London, to launch the national Read for My School 2016 competition on Tuesday 19th January. They are holding balloons marking out the target of 1,000,000 books for pupils to read during the spring term.

Judith Chernaik, editor and founder of Poems on the Underground, spoke about the history of the programme at a celebration of its 30th anniversary held in the disused Aldwych tube station on Wednesday 20th January.
