Martin Windrow centre was the guest of honour at Osprey Publishing’s 50th Anniversary Party, held at Rhodes House in Oxford on Wednesday 17th October. Windrow is pictured alongside L-R Richard Sullivan, Brianne Bellio and Chris Cook.

Chair of judges Kwame Anthony Appiah left presented Anna Burns with the 2018 Man Booker Prize for Milkman (Faber & Faber). The ceremony took place at London’s Guildhall on Tuesday 16th October.

On Monday 15th October, the team at Frances Lincoln Children’s Books celebrated its Little People, Big Dreams series selling its millionth copy worldwide.

Waterstones Piccadilly and Transworld teamed up with Jack Arts to celebrate the publication of Markus Zusak’s Bridge of Clay on Thursday 11th October, building a bridge out of more than 1,000 books.

Drag artist Joe Black hosted the launch of Greg Bailey’s Alright Darling: The Contemporary Drag Scene (Laurence King) at LUSH’s Soho Studio on Thursday 11th October.

On Thursday 11th October, Little, Brown held an international editor’s dinner for SK Vaughn, whose thriller Across the Void has sold across 14 foreign territories to date.

Illustrator Michael Foreman left and author Sir Michael Morpurgo visited the UK’s original poppy-making factory on Tuesday 9th October, alongside a group of local school children. The event was held to celebrate the publication of their new title Poppy Field (Scholastic), commemorating the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.
