Portfolio, the business books imprint at Penguin Random House, has hired a new editor "to continue its growth".
Fred Baty, previously assistant editor for Random House Books and RH Business Books under PRH's Cornerstone division, has worked with popular psychology and business authors including Robert Cialdini and Philip Tetlock, as well as John Cleese and Alastair Campbell.
He will report to Portfolio and Viking publisher Joel Rickett in his new role as editor acquiring business and personal development titles, said to include narratives, memoirs, how-to, inspirational, leadership, start-up, economics and technology.
Portfolio UK was launched in 2010 and has grown to 25-30 titles a year, many published alongside Portfolio US. Its backlist includes The Lean Startup, Daring Greatly, #GirlBoss and Start With Why, with highlights of its 2015 portfolio including Business for Punks, Do Less Get More and The Idea in You.
