Baby Cow Productions has optioned Olivia Potts’s memoir A Half Baked Idea (Fig Tree, 2019) for television.
Baby Cow acquired TV rights from Zoe Ross at United Agents.
Potts' memoir tells the story of a period in her life when she suddenly lost her mother, met the man who was to become her husband, and left a career as a criminal barrister to study for the Cordon Bleu Diplôme de Pâtisserie.
Potts commented: "It's a terrifying thing to commit the most exposing parts of your life to paper; it's quite another to entrust those parts to others to adapt for screen, but I couldn't have found a better team to do so. Baby Cow immediately got what the book was about, and understood its chaotic and tender heart. I'm incredibly grateful to them for believing in this story."
A Half Baked Idea won the 2020 Fortnum & Mason’s Debut Food Book Award.
