Author Jeff Kinney will speak to children in Newcastle and Edinburgh this autumn as part of an international tour to promote the next title in the Wimpy Kid series.
Penguin Random House Children’s will release Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown in the UK on 30th October, then take Kinney around the UK on a tour from 15th to 17th November. Kinney will perform to 500 school children at a multi-schools event in Newcastle, run in association with the National Literacy Trust, and take part in an 800-seater public event in Edinburgh.
PRH Children’s campaign will also include premium TV advertising, a Wimpy Kid snowball game on the Nickelodeon site nick.com, a digital campaign, Wimpy Kid costume character visits to stores and festivals and print and broadcast interviews with Jeff Kinney.

Many thousands of young fans will be in meltdown this winter with the new, hilarious and epic icy adventure from Greg Heffley, spreading laughter and a love of Wimpy Kid reading right across the country”.
Kinney will also visit Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Canada.
Last year Kinney celebrated 10 years of publishing with Penguin Random House Children’s and received a Nielsen BookScan Platinum Award for selling over 10 million books.
