Authors from across the PRH UK list will deliver a series of free events and talks to entrepreneurial members of shared workspace company WeWork in a new partnership called We Read the Future.
Taking place in WeWork’s office spaces for across London, the first event in the series will see Brave New Work (Penguin Business) author Aaron Dignan speak about how to get the best out of staff and business, by eliminating red tape and tapping into the collective intelligence.
Flagged as “the management book of the year” by Seth Godin, “this event will set the standard for the series, during which world-class minds will share their wisdom,” said Penguin.
Head of product and brand at Penguin Living Jonathan Phillips said: “Penguin is passionate about connecting people to the ideas that matter. We’re incredibly excited about the We Read the Future partnership and the opportunity to bring together WeWork’s entrepreneurial members and Penguin’s world class authors. Through linking businesses and their communities with new ideas and fresh thinking Penguin is helping to spark innovation, debate and real change around the future of the workplace.”
The main series will be open to WeWork’s 40,000 members and the wider community alike, with scope for satellite events tailored for WeWork members, staff and partners. An event with Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World (Piatkus) author Cal Newport, as part of his UK tour of Digital Minimalism (Penguin Business), will follow.
WeWork’s UK and Ireland general manager Mathieu Proust said: “At WeWork, we're always thinking about the future of the workplace, and connecting our members with the space, programming and global business network to help their companies succeed. Penguin looks to the future of publishing and, like WeWork, is fuelled by a mission to bring people and ideas together. It’s an honour to work with the Penguin team to bring our event series, We Read the Future, to our members and the wider community.”
