Penguin Random House's distribution managing director, Mark Williams, is retiring in June 2018 after 17 years.
Colin James, who has worked at the company in a range of technology and distribution roles for over 15 years, will succeed Williams when he steps down this summer.
Williams has been "at the heart" of PRH's distribution operation for 17 years, according to group operations director Deborah Wright, who went on to thank him for his "extraordinary contribution" and wish him well in his retirement.
"Leading across multiple sites, during his time at the company he has established an operation known for its outstanding service and a team who are trusted to get the books people love into readers’ hands around the world," said Wright. "We thank him for his extraordinary contribution to our business, and wish him all the best for his retirement."
