Penguin Random House has hired Lou Grosart and Ned Hartley as part of its Ladybird licensing team.
Grosart, previously senior commissioning editor at Egmont, joins this week as editorial director of Ladybird Licensing, covering Leanne Gill’s maternity leave. She will be in charge of Peppa Pig publishing and looking for new licensing opportunities in books for 0-7 year-olds.
Hartley joined Ladybird before Christmas, also from Egmont, as commissioning editor and will look after the division’s Nickelodeon publishing. Hartley will report to Grosart and Grosart will report to Shannon Cullen, Ladybird’s publishing director.
Cullen said: “I’m delighted to have Louise Grosart and Ned Hartley joining the Ladybird Licensing team. We already have some exciting new brands to announce over the coming months, and I can’t wait to see what Lou and Ned acquire.”
