Penguin Random House UK and Bertelsmann music company BMG are releasing Charlie Mackesy's runaway bestseller The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse on vinyl.
It will feature the audio version, brought to life by Mackesy himself, as a black gatefold double vinyl edition featuring the music score by composer Max Richter and a bespoke composition by Isobel Waller-Bridge. Real wildlife sounds of rural England are used as Mackesy recorded the audiobook from a barn in Suffolk.
The vinyl sleeve features original artwork designed by Mackesy and Colm Roche, who has worked closely with the author and illustrator on all editions of the book.
Mackesy's book was 2020's bestselling title and has shifted 1.04 million UK print copies through Nielsen BookScan, for £12.2m, excluding lockdown sales.
The vinyl edition is released on 11th June 2021 ahead of Father’s Day. Limited exclusive signed editions will be available from select retailers.
