Penguin Random House Children’s is tapping into the trend for non-fiction books about historical figures with a new Extraordinary Lives series.
The series will launch in January 2019 with three titles - The Extraordinary Life of Stephen Hawking, The Extraordinary Life of Malala Yousafzai and The Extraordinary Life of Michelle Obama. Books about Katherine Johnson, Anne Frank and Neil Armstrong will follow in June and titles focusing on Rosa Parks, Mary Seacole and Mahatma Gandhi will be published in September.
The books are edited by Emma Jones.
Amy Wilkerson, head of international children’s sales, said: “I am so excited to be selling such exciting and inspiring non-fiction that is tapping into the trends and titles our customers are looking for. Across the globe we want all children to feel that they can go anywhere and be anything, and the lives of these extraordinary people show that anything is possible.”
Each book is published in paperback, priced at £6.99, and illustrated throughout in one-colour pantone.
