Profile Books has a new logo, designed by creative director Peter Dyer. This was unveiled as the publisher approaches its 30th birthday in 2026, and has been designed by Peter Dyer, the company’s creative director.
Dyer joined as Profile’s first in-house designer in 2009, becoming creative director as he built a team now led by Steve Coventry-Panton. He designed covers for books including The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry and SPQR by Mary Beard, as well as at least two dozen catalogue covers. Before he retired at the end of 2023, he reimagined the logo that will be used by the publisher for the next 30 years.
Dyer said that his aim was to create a look that is "bold and expressive with a modern classic feel", to suit the character of the imprint and the company.
Managing director Rebecca Gray commented: "For a long time we’ve been talking about how we might refresh the Profile logo, and I’m happy to say that after lots of careful thought, Pete has created a beautiful new design. This was especially significant as it was his parting gift to us before he retired at the end of last year. It’s quite a different direction and we are very happy to begin using it at the start of 2024."
Founder and publisher Andrew Franklin added: "To stay fresh, relevant and contemporary, our logo – in fact everything we do – has to stay up to date and I think what Rebecca commissioned and Peter Dyer has created for Profile is brilliant. I wholeheartedly approve."
