Granta Publications has promoted Pru Rowlandson, Lamorna Elmer, Isabella Depiazzi and Dan Bird.
Managing director and publishing director Bella Lacey said: "I’m delighted to have such a talented, experienced and passionate team in place ahead of what promises to be a stellar 2023 for Granta."
Rowlandson is now campaigns and publicity director with the remit to lead the planning and delivery of Granta’s campaigns across publicity and marketing. She will also take the lead role in Granta’s external communications. Lacey explained: "Pru Rowlandson is a compelling and effective communicator with instinctive publishing vision who brings a wealth of experience to her role."
Elmer will continue to lead on key publicity campaigns as deputy publicity director while taking an increasingly strategic role in campaign development, deputising for Rowlandson. Lacey said: "I’m also very happy to recognise within the publicity team the high-calibre campaigns which Lamorna Elmer has consistently planned and delivered such as Mariana Enriquez’s Our Share of Night and A K Blakemore’s The Manningtree Witches."
Depiazzi has been promoted to senior rights and acquisitions manager. She will lead Granta’s audio policy with an increased role in the development and implementation of rights strategies. Depiazzi brings "expertise, strategic vision and rigour into the department," said Lacey.
Bird is now editor and will be acquiring several titles a year for the Granta Books list across fiction and non-fiction. He is currently working on Justin Torres’ Blackouts, Walter Kempowski’s An Ordinary Youth and Sam Mills’ The Watermark. "He has shown tremendous flair and sensitivity in his editorial work and I can’t wait to see what he will bring to the list," added Lacey.
