Publishers Group UK (PGUK) has confirmed that it will be moving from Grantham Book Services (GBS) to Macmillan Distribution (MDL) from 1st July 2025.
PGUK said it is working with both GBS and MDL on a "transfer plan" ensuring minimal disruption to services or supply. Further information on these arrangements will be made with PGUK’s customers in due course.
“We are delighted to have found a new home from next year and have been very impressed with the MDL team," said Medwyn Hughes, joint managing director for PGUK. "MDL offers an outstanding service to the trade and is the perfect partner for PGUK”
Matthew Hogg, commercial director for MDL, added: “We are delighted that that PGUK will be joining us in 2025. As well as their huge experience in sales Cathy Cathy [Parson, PGUK co-owner] and Medwyn have an extensive knowledge of distribution which we know will ensure the strongest of partnerships with MDL.
"We have a well-established solution already in place for sales and distribution contracts ensuring that PGUK’s publishers can take the full benefit of our systems and services. As well as looking forward to welcoming the PGUK team we are delighted to be able to extend these services to their excellent portfolio of publishers.”
Earlier this week, both Bonnier Books UK and Allison & Busby announced moves to MDL.
