Puffin buys new Anthony Browne picture book

Penguin Random House Children’s divison Puffin has snapped up Anthony Browne's new picture book entitled Our Girl.

The book is part of a series that also includes My Dad, My Mum and My Brother and is a celebration of daughters.

Editorial director Andrea MacDonald acquired world rights from Browne, a former children’s laureate, and will publish in the UK in September 2020.

“A new book from Anthony is always an incredibly exciting prospect, and Our Girl is just a pure delight,” said MacDonald. “It’s a glorious celebration of girl-children everywhere: charming, amusing and comforting in equal measure. I couldn’t be prouder for us to showcase the book and Anthony’s trademark rich artwork, surrealist humour and joyful depictions of family life this year at Bologna.”
