Quadrille launched a Spring Food and Drink showcase at Fortnum and Mason’s on Tuesday evening (5th November) featuring José Pizarro and Sugen Gopal of Roti King.
Hosted by Gurdeep Loyal at the luxury department store, the presentation included in-depth cookery presentations from the authors themselves in the test kitchen, as they discussed influences and inspirations behind their books. Afterwards guests were able to sample various dishes from the chefs with inspirations coming from around the world.
As well as Pizarro, who cooked Spanish omelette, and Gopal, who cooked his signature Roti, other authors included Anna Hedworth, Noor Murad, Gaz Oakley and Alissa Timoshkina.
Caroline Eden, Keshia Sakarah, Lacey Ostermann, Amy Sheppard and Emily Scott also joined the event.

Gopal revealed how he learned how to cook partly from his uncle. And then how quickly his Roti King restaurant had taken off from originally being a market stall, going from making a few hundred Rotis each day to around 6,000.
Meanwhile, Oakley discussed how he moved back to Wales from London in lockdown before he settled in the countryside.: "Nowadays I go outside and pick my ingredients for dinner... I’m so proud of it. I ask my mum and speak to her about her parents and their parents—they all grew food so I think it’s just about rediscovering a lost tradition.
