Quarto c.e.o. Alison Goff is set to step down from the role at the end of the year due to "personal reasons", the independent publisher has announced. She will remain an advisor to the board.
While group c.e.o., she led a full corporate rebrand project with design group Pentagram, and introduced several new imprints to the group, including Carnival, a cooking and wellness imprint. She also oversaw the company as it produced several New York Times and Sunday Times bestsellers, including Little People, BIG DREAMS: Taylor Swift and The Ultimate Air Fryer Cookbook.
Additional achievements include the Beautiful Boards series from Meagan Brown and the category bestseller How to Draw Super Cute Things with Bobbie Goods. Quarto also continued to grow under Alison’s tenure.
C K Lau, president of The Quarto Group and executive director of Lion Rock Group and OPUS Group Limited, will step in as interim c.e.o from 1st November.
Goff said: “I’ve very much enjoyed my three years at Quarto and I hope I have been a catalyst for change.”
Lau added: “I’ve enjoyed working with Alison. Her dedication to her work and care for staff were greatly valued.”
