The Quarto Group has announced a series of promotions in its global sales and operation teams.
The publisher said the move would enable the group to "create a more strategic approach to the business, while also enhancing the focus on its customers in the UK and US".
Tara Catogge (pictured) is appointed group chief operating officer, based in the US, and will be responsible for group operations including demand planning and supply chain, with an additional focus on technology and business process improvement. She will also be working with Hachette's distribution operation in the UK.
Andrew Stanley is promoted to senior vice-president, group sales and marketing. In addition to his current Quarto UK and international sales and marketing role, he will take up the management of the Quarto US sales and marketing functions and will now be responsible for all English-language trade sales globally. Stanley has more than 30 years’ sales and marketing experience both in the UK and the US, having previously worked at Penguin Random House in the US and Thames & Hudson in the UK.
Anna Randall is promoted to UK sales director and has the overall UK sales responsibility for the Quarto Group, including the special sales team and online sales. She has more than 25 years of publishing experience across the UK market, and joined Quarto in 2014 as head of UK sales. Most recently, as UK trade sales director for both adult and children, she headed up sales to the supermarkets, high street chains and indies, educational and wholesaler accounts. She will continue to report to Stanley.
The publisher has seen a number of changes recently. In June it was announced c.o.o. Ken Fund will retire on 1st December after 22 years at the company, and in July c.e.o. Polly Powell stepped down. Earlier this month Jo Hanks was appointed as the new publisher at Quarto Children's Books' list for children's illustrated non-fiction.
