Pan Macmillan has hired Rachel Graves, currently head of export for the Hachette Children’s Group, as international sales director.
In the new role Graves, who joins the company in March, will manage the open-market sales team for Asia and Latin America and will take responsibility for all children’s sales and special sales outside the UK and Ireland.
Jonathan Atkins, international director at Pan Macmillan, said: “We have seen significant growth in our international children's sales over the past five years and Rachel's appointment will further develop this very important area of our publishing. In Rachel we have found one of the smartest and most experienced international sales professionals who will be able to bring a new market-led approach to our children's programme and provide greater focus to some of our emerging markets in Asia where the growth has been so impressive.”
Graves replaces Sarah McLean, who is joining Bloomsbury as international sales director.
