The Royal Horticultural Society is set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram children’s classic Guess How Much I Love You with a "playful" interactive trail and family activities across all five RHS Gardens throughout 2025.
The scheme launches in the February half-term and the trail and the activities "embrace and bring to life" the story and illustrations of the hares from the book.
The RHS said the celebration will connect children and their families "with the joy of gardens, gardening and nature". The trails will re-enact some of the actions and adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare while "exploring the many colours, textures and shapes found in nature".
A programme of seasonal activities unique to each garden, RHS Wisley, RHS Rosemoor, RHS Bridgewater, RHS Harlow Carr and RHS Hyde will accompany the trails throughout 2025. This includes arts and craft activities, yoga, interactive storytelling, exploratory walks and carrot soup-making.
Elin Simonsson, head of public engagement of the RHS, said: "The book’s special focus on love and its wonderful natural setting share a similar magic to the family-friendly experiences we offer across all RHS Gardens, encouraging young people to explore the natural wonders of gardens. The stories coming to life to connect our youngest visitors with the joys of nature found in gardens will be a lasting memory for young people and we can’t wait to welcome them all – with their arms outstretched like Little Nutbrown Hare – from February 2025."

Melissa Fairley, character, custom and entertainment publisher said: "We are over the moon (and back!) to be celebrating these beloved hares with the RHS. As fans of the original book explore the trails, they’ll not only experience the joy of being outdoors, but hopefully continue the lifelong love for this classic book with friends and family."
Guess How Much I Love You books will also be able to be purchased in the RHS Garden shops. To celebrate 30 years of the book, Walker Books will publish Guess How Much I Love You: I See Me as a new title for the anniversary year in February 2025.
