Children’s authors such as Tom Fletcher, Chris Hoy and the children’s laureate Chris Riddell have signed up to take part in next year’s ‘Biggest Book Show on Earth’, organised by World Book Day.
The line-up will also include Jessica Ennis-Hill, who recently signed a book deal with Hodder Children’s Group, Francesca Simon, Liz Pichon, Holly Smale, Clare Balding, Cressida Cowell, Lydia Monks, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, Julian Clary and David Roberts.
The show, which marks the 20th anniversary of World Book Day, will tour Glasgow, Coventry, Barry, London and Dublin, reaching 6,000 children, between 27th February and 3rd March next year. Author and actor Steven Butler will compere the tour.
Kirsten Grant, director of World Book Day, said: “World Book Day is all about spreading the joy of reading to every young person in the country. We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary, and what a fantastic time we’ve had. As ever, our aim is to deliver some of the very best authors and illustrators direct to thousands of children across the country.”
World Book Day has also partnered with Picturehouse Cinemas, which sill run 20 author and illustrator events in the UK.
