Hollywood actress Riley Keough will star as the eponymous character in the Amazon adaptation of Daisy Jones and the Six (Hutchinson).
The rock and roll novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid was published in the UK by the Cornerstone imprint in March 2019, after Amazon Studios ordered a 12-part adaptation with actress Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine. Witherspoon said at the time that she "devoured this in a day, falling head over heels for Daisy".
Now Entertainment Weekly has revealed Keough, an American actress and grand-daughter of Elvis Presley, will star as Daisy Jones. Niki Caro has joined the production as executive producer and as director of multiple episodes.
The book explores the reason why the fictional 70s' rock band Daisy Jones & the Six split on the night of their final concert at Chicago Stadium, on 12th July, 1979.
Jenkins Reid is the author of five previous novels and Daisy Jones and the Six is her first to be published in the UK. It sold 20,757 copies according to Nielsen BookScan. Hutchinson will also publish her next novel. She is published by Ballantine in the US.
