The shortlists for the 2022 Romantic Novelists’ Association (RNA) Industry Awards have been revealed, with Kate Nash, Clare Wade and Charlotte Ledger all in contention for prizes.
The awards celebrate the hard work and talent of any person, group or organisation who has “championed the broad genre of romantic fiction in a positive way”.
The finalists are nominated by the full and probationary membership of the RNA, with a panel of independent judges selecting the shortlists.
Laura James, the RNA Industry Awards organiser, said: “Of late, people have experienced difficult times, yet our authors continue to produce quality romantic fiction which enlightens, informs, and entertains. These stories reflect the strength, determination, and passion of the human spirit. They give hope and show love can heal. It is a wonderful privilege and a genuine pleasure to honour the individuals and organisations who support and promote romantic fiction and the RNA. They ensure our stories are enjoyed by readers all over the world.”
In contention for Romantic Bookseller of the Year are Tea Leaves and Reads and Words & Kisses, while Mills & Boon, Rebecca Slorach and Claire Wade are in contention for the Inclusion Award.
Indie Champion of the Year will be fought between the Alliance of Independent Authors, Clare Flynn and Lizzie Lamb while Daren Kearl and Sharon Whitehouse are both up for Librarian of the Year.
Indie Editor of the Year is between Alison May and Emily Shelton Poole, while Cover Designer of the Year is a contest between Lucy Murphy and J D Smith.
Anne Dover, Helen McAlpine and Susie Riddell are all up for Narrator of the Year, while Claire Fenby, Rachel Gilbey and Anne Williams are vying for Media Star of the Year.

The winners of the awards will be announced during the RNA’s Winter Party and Industry Awards ceremony, which is being held at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London City, 8–14 Cooper’s Row, London, on 11th November 2022 at 6.30 p.m.
