M L Rose, Francesca Catlow and G J Ogden have been shortlisted for Amazon’s 2023 £20,000 Kindle Storyteller Award.
The prize gives Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) self-published authors across the world the chance to win the cash prize and a bespoke Amazon marketing campaign.
This year’s shortlist spotlights fiction across crime thriller, romance, sci-fi and humour. TV presenter and author Sue Perkins is on the judging panel this year, alongside broadcaster, writer and member of the House of Lords Baroness Floella Benjamin, among others. The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony at the House of Commons on 13th November.
The shortlist comprises My Brother’s Keeper by Rose, Greek Secret by Catlow and Forsaken Commander by Ogden. A Midlife Gamble by Cary J Hansson and Silent Ruin by David J Gatward are also on the list.
Darren Hardy, author and editorial programmes manager at Amazon UK, is also the on the judging panel. He said: “Whittling down the thousands of Kindle Storyteller Award entries to just five books gets more difficult each year!
"It’s fantastic to see the unstoppable creativity and talent of self-published authors yet again as we enter our seventh year of the award, and I’m proud to see so many people launch and build their literary careers with Kindle Direct Publishing. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into each shortlisted title with the rest of this year’s judges and we look forward to crowning our winner in November.”
