Amanda Rutter has been appointed commissioning editor at Solaris Books.
Rutter joins from Azantian Literary Agency, where she currently holds the position of literary agent. With a passion for fantasy and science fiction, Rutter has previously worked at Red Sofa Literary Agency and undertaken editorial and proofreading work with publishers such as Angry Robot, Aconyte Books and Titan Books.
Publishing manager Beth Lewis said: “I’ve been an admirer of Amanda’s for a while. Her taste in genre fiction, her experience on both sides of the agent-editor relationship and her way with authors is going to be a great asset to the Solaris team.”
Rutter added: “I am a big fan of the Solaris imprint so I am utterly delighted to become part of such a brilliant team.”
She takes up her new role at Solaris at the end of January.
