Sabah Khan is joining Simon & Schuster UK as head of publicity for the adult publishing division.
Khan moves from Avon where she has been since 2017. A Bookseller Rising Star, Khan has spearheaded sales-driving PR campaigns during an unprecedented period of success for the imprint, culminating in Imprint of the Year at this year’s Nibbies.
Before her role at Avon, she worked in agencies across media and publishing. She has been a key supporter and driver of diversity and inclusion initiatives at HarperCollins, launching informal network groups for women as well as being a founding member of Elevate.
Khan said: "My time at Avon was fantastic and I couldn’t be more grateful to my brilliant authors and the amazing team around me who made it such a joy. I am sad to be leaving but I could not be any more excited about this opportunity to be joining the wonderful team at S&S – I’m ready for a new challenge and I’m so looking forward to working on S&S’ incredible list and doing all I can to help reach new readers and work alongside such brilliant publicists."
At S&S, she will be reporting to Polly Osborn, marketing and publicity director.
Osborn said: "I have long admired Sabah’s work from afar, she is a consummate publicist with a strategic approach and a very high level of author care. We cannot wait for her to join S&S, especially at such an exciting time for the company with a fantastic list lined up for 2021. She will be joining a team of exceptional publicists, looking to make 2021 our noisiest yet."
Khan joins S&S in early spring 2021.
