OWN IT! has signed author, poet and activist Salena Godden to its literary, film and TV agency.
Godden is currently developing 'Mrs Death Misses Death', a work of fiction and poetry that she has performed at shows in London, Bristol and Cheltenham, with a soundtrack composed by Peter Coyte. A BBC Radio 4 documentary about 'Mrs Death Misses Death' is in production and is scheduled for broadcast in December.
“Salena Godden has been a long-standing pioneer in the British literary and poetry scene with over 25 years of contribution across the arts,” says OWN IT! director Crystal Mahey-Morgan. “Her independent punk spirit coupled with consistent quality and desire to push artistic boundaries means her work is full of integrity and always of the highest standard."
She added: "We’re very excited to be able to work with Salena and represent her across literature, film and TV, especially given the very exciting projects that she currently has in development.”
OWN IT! has also signed playwright, screenwriter and essayist Sharmila Chauhan, who is currently working on a long-form non-fiction about cross-cultural relationships.
Mahey-Morgan launched the agency arm of multimedia publisher OWN IT! in August. The company also operates as a book publisher, a record label and events producer.
