Sally Phillips will narrate the audio edition of Lucy Diamond’s new novel Anything Could Happen (Quercus).
Diamond’s 17th novel, her first since moving from Pan Mac to Quercus, follows a chance encounter in New York City. The synopsis reads: “For Lara and her daughter Eliza, it has always been just the two of them. But when Eliza turns 18 and wants to connect with her father, Lara is forced to admit a secret that she has been keeping from her daughter her whole life.” Quercus dubbed it “a warm, wise, funny and uplifting novel about love, second chances and the unexpected and extraordinary paths life can take us down”.
Phillips said: “Recording Anything Could Happen has been a truly enjoyable experience. I loved voicing Lara and Eliza as they’re such brilliant characters.”
Audio publisher Hannah Cawse added: “Sally is the perfect actor to narrate Anything Could Happen. She brings so many emotions to her performance making it a really captivating listen.”
Phillips is an award-winning actor, writer and comedian-presenter known for TV shows such as “I'm Alan Partridge”, “Smack the Pony”, “Green Wing” and “Miranda” as well as films such as the Bridget Jones trilogy. In 2016 she fronted the documentary "A World Without Down's Syndrome?" and continues to be a vocal disability advocate. Most recently, she became the host of “Sunday Morning Live”, co-presenting with Sean Fletcher.
