Sam Brace will step up from her role as publishing associate to publisher at Agora Books, PFD’s digital-first publishing imprint.
Agora Books was established in 2015 and focuses on a diverse list of classic and contemporary fiction, reissuing many of the agency’s backlist estates, including best-selling authors George Bellairs and Margery Allingham, as well as publishing captivating contemporary authors, such as upcoming debuts from Rebecca Kelly and Agatha Zaza. Agora has grown over the past few years, hosting its Lost the Plot Work in Progress writing prize, branching out into more traditional publishing ventures and celebrating female crime writers in their Uncrowned Queens of Crime series.
PFD c.e.o. Caroline Michel said: “Agora is one of the most innovative digital publishers. Working across all territories in the English language, we are all at PFD excited by the plans Sam and the team have to develop and grow the list and the reach of Agora to even greater heights.”
Brace added: “I’m so proud of what Agora has become: a home for fantastic fiction. Whether it’s work from under-celebrated writers of the 1950s or undiscovered writers typing at their computers now, Agora is passionate about getting great books out to our readers. I’m so excited to take on this opportunity and continue expanding the communities of dedicated readers and burgeoning authors we’ve been privileged enough to build so far.”
