The Bath Festival has announced headliners for 2024 including Sara Pascoe, Clive Myrie, Kit de Waal and Howard Jacobson.
This year’s festival promises "a sparkling mix of inspirational speakers, consummate story tellers and music to lift the spirits and soothe the sou"l, and will run from 17th to 26th May.
There will be a comprehensive spread across genres such as memoir, fiction and poetry — BBC World Affairs broadcaster Myrie will be in conversation with author de Waal about his autobiography Everything is Everything (Hodder & Stoughton).
Additionally poet and award-winning novelist Salena Godden will celebrate the launch of her new poetry collection, With Love, Grief and Fury (Canongate) and Booker prize-winning novelist Jacobson will discuss his new novel, What Will Survive Of Us (Vintage), with Joe Haddow, host of BBC Radio 2’s long-running "Book Club".
Comedians and long-term friends Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd (co-hosts of the “Weirdos Book Club” podcast), will celebrate the paperback publication of Pasco’s debut novel, Weirdo (Faber).
Waterstones will be the official festival bookseller with a pop-up bookshop in Bath Guildhall during the 10-day festival. Tickets go on general sale next Friday (22nd March).
Haddow, also curator of The Bath Festival 2024 literary programme, said "I am so excited to welcome such an amazing array of authors and speakers to Bath Festival this year. It promises to be a joyous celebration of literature and the importance of stories.”
