Simon & Schuster UK has appointed Fritha Saunders from Quarto UK as its non-fiction editorial director.
Saunders, who is currently editorial director for the Quarto imprint, Jacqui Small, joins S&S on 26th February. She was previously at Constable & Robinson.
She will run the company’s wellbeing programme and will replace Claudia Connal who is joining Octopus to head up a new strand of narrative non-fiction.
Iain MacGregor, publishing director for non fiction said she will “bring freshness to our ever-successful programme and a sense of excitement for our bestselling stable of authors in this crucial genre for the company”.
He said: “With titles such as Drs Dean and Ayesha Sherzai's The Alzheimer’s Solution, Bob Roth’s Strength In Stillness, and Matt Morgan’s A&E memoir Critical we have a an incredible year ahead of us."
Saunders added: “I am extremely happy to be moving to Simon & Schuster. I've always admired the books that they publish and it's incredibly exciting to be joining such an esteemed publishing house.”
Connal joined S&S UK in February 2016 from Little, Brown.
