Scholastic UK has announced plans to relocate its two English schools-facing warehouses to one Warwickshire site.
School distribution centres in Witney, Oxfordshire and Southam, Warwickshire will close in 2020 and staff will be offered roles at the new site in in Tournament Fields, Warwickshire. Office staff based in Witney and Southam will move to new offices in their areas.
Co-group m.d. Catherine Bell said: “After over 22 years in Witney and 45 in Southam, Scholastic has a rich heritage of serving school customers. We thank our colleagues in Southam and Witney as we consolidate operations into one location to continue to provide best-in-class service for our schools and fulfil our mission to help all children learn to read and love to learn.”
Steve Thompson, co-group m.d., added: “The new warehouse provides an enormous opportunity to embrace the benefits of running one operation serving our customers from a facility that meets their needs and those of our business. Whilst there is sadness at leaving our current sites, we are facing a future in a strong position with a fantastic team and a warehouse to support our ambitions for growth.”
