Scholastic UK will publish Fearless! How to be your true, confident self by anti-bullying charity founder Liam Hackett.
Scholastic UK publishing manager Leah James struck the deal for world rights with Northbank Talent Management. The "brave, honest and inspiring book" will be published in January 2020.
In Fearless, Hackett aims to help young people be themselves, explaining how they can break free from labels and stereotypes to fear less and truly realise their full potential.
Hackett is the founder and c.e.o. of Ditch the Label, one of the largest anti-bullying charities in the world. In 2018, Ditch the Label reached three million young people across the globe and the charity has recently launched a resource website for educators.
He said: "Young people are under a growing amount of pressure to perform at school and conform to societal stereotypes. The data consistently shows that bullying is now at record levels and young people are struggling with their mental health, wellbeing and identity. This book, I believe, is will provide helpful advice and support. I have drawn from personal anecdotes, research and the stories of inspirational people to put together a compelling guide on being yourself, building confidence and becoming fearless.|
James added: "We are enormously proud to be publishing this exceptional book next year and hope that Fearless reaches young people in need of Liam’s inspiring words."
